Benjamin Barnett was the second child of William Barnett & Ann Matthews born May 26th, 1828 & christened May 28th, at Hambleden 1828, Bucks.
In 1841 Benjamin & his brothers & sisters were living at Saunderton Grange where his father was a farmer.
Benjamin was still living at home in 1851 at Grange Farm, Saunderton.
In 1861 Benjamin, now listed as a farmer, was still living at Saunderton with his parents & sister Susan.
By 1871 Benjamin was a farmer of 140 acres employing 3 men & 2 boys at Slough Farm, Saunderton.
In Oct-Dec 1879 Benjamin married Selina Harvey, the marriage being registered in Wycombe, Bucks. Selina was born in 1856 in Aylesbury, Bucks, the daughter of Emma & Henry Harvey, a jobbing labourer.
Benjamin & Selina were living at Walters Ash, Hughenden, Bucks in 1881. Benjamin was still listed as a farmer, but of just 17 acres. They had a 3 month old son, Herbert.
At the time of the 1891 census Benjamin, a farmer, was listed at Northern Woods, Wooburn, Bucks, but Selina was not with him. There were 4 more children with him – William (10), Arthur (8), Mary (5) & Owen (4). Selina was visiting her sister Ann, now married to Arthur G Veal, at the time of the census at 19 Ardenham St, Aylesbury.
Benjamin died on March 25th, 1892 at Wooburn, Bucks.

Selina married again in 1895 at Wycombe. Her second husband was Edward Henry Ecclestone, a painter & decorator.
In 1901 Selina & Edward were living at Spring Gardens, Wooburn with Selina’s son William Herbert Barnett (20), also a painter & decorator, & daughter Frances Mary Eva Barnett (16). They also had a nurse child, 9 year old Hilda Hull.
Edward died in April-June 1902 at Wycombe.
By 1911 widowed Selina was living with her daughter Frances Mary Eva & her husband John Archibald Dulley, a jobmaster & coal merchant, & their 3 month old daughter Kathleen May. They were at Park View, Wooburn.
The 1939 register shows Selina with her daughter Frances, her husband John A Dulley & family. They were living next to the Post Office in Wooburn. Selina was noted as incapacitated.
Selina lived to the age of 87 & died in April-June 1943 at Wycombe.
