Caroline Fry was the third child of Samuel Fry & Sarah Smeed christened April 19th, 1846 at East Grinstead.
In 1861 Caroline was living with her parents, 3 brothers & 3 sisters at Wiggs Farm, Withyham, Sussex.
Caroline was still living at home in 1871 which was now Chartners Farm, Hartfield, Sussex, with her parents & brothers & sisters.
On November 14th, 1871 she married James Goodwin who was the son of Thomas & Sarah Goodwin of Beeches Farm, Hartfield, born Oct-Dec 1837 at Cowden, Kent, his birth being registered at Sevenoaks.
Sadly Caroline died at the age of 27, & was buried on October 18th, 1873 at Withyham, Sussex.
Widower James was living with his widowed father & brother George at Beeches Farm in 1881.
In 1885 James married Caroline’s sister, Louisa with whom he had 3
children – see f.2.6.6 Louisa Fry.
