Florence Zillah Fry was the first child of Albert Edward Fry & Harriett Annie Grove born September 23rd, 1878 at Hartfield & christened November 3rd, 1878 at Christ Church, Croydon, Surrey.
In 1881 she was living at home at Brookshill Farm, Hartfield, & by 1891 the family had moved to Chartners Farm, Hartfield, bur father Albert Edward had died in 1890.
In 1901 Florence was a ladies companion to Agnes M Knight, a grocers wife, living at 42 Cavendish Place, Eastbourne.
By 1911 Florence had become governess to the 4 sons of Rev George Russell Sanders & his wife, Henrietta. They were living at the Davenham Rectory in the parish of Leftwich, Northwich, Cheshire. The household also had 6 servants.
The 1939 Register reveals that Florence was living at 7 Church View, Church Lane, Tadcaster, West Yorks. She was described as a private governess, daily.
Florence died on July 29th, 1970, aged 91, at Whitehanger, Fernhurst, Sussex. Her death certificate states that Florence was a companion/governess, retired & the cause of death was broncho-pneumonia & senility.
