Anthony Fry [f.2.6.8.4.3]

Anthony Fry was the third child of Albert Edward Fry & Rose Marion Barnett born May 22nd, 1921 at Leeds, Yorkshire.

Anthony married Muriel Agnes Brown at St Edmund, Roundhay on September 13th, 1947. Anthony, known as Tony, was an RAF officer at the time of their marriage. Witnesses at the wedding were Rose Marion Fry & I(J)an Brown. Muriel Agnes Brown was born June 17th, 1916, the daughter of Vans Brown, a master mariner.

Tony had a distinguished career in the RAF during which time he served in Malaya, USA & the UK. He spent time at RAF Scampton, Lincolnshire & was commanding officer at RAF Newton, Nottinghamshire from June 17th, 1968 until 1971. He had reached the rank of Group Captain when he retired. Tony & Muriel retired to Yorkshire & lived just north of Leeds. Tony was a very keen supporter of Yorkshire County cricket.

Muriel died in February 1995, aged 78, & Tony also died that month, on February 24th, 1995 at 17 Adel Pasture, Leeds, aged 73.
