George Thomas Grove was the fourth child of Henry William Grove & Mary Ann Mays born Jan-March 1860 & christened April 15th, 1860 at Croydon, Surrey.
In 1861 & 1871 he was at home with his parents in Croydon.
George & his parents & sisters Louisa, Eliza & Ellen, all emigrated to Sydney, Australia on the ship ‘Samuel Plimsoll’ arriving in Sydney on December 16th, 1874. The ship’s manifest gave George’s occupation as a shopman & noted that they were going to join his Uncle Charles Grove [g.9], who had emigrated to Australia in 1857 & was living south of Sydney at Bowral, NSW.
George married Jane Hardie Falconer in 1890 in Sydney. Jane was born in 1867 in Sydney, the daughter of Emma & John Falconer.
Jane died aged 76 in 1942 at Concord, Sydney. She was buried on November 20th, 1942 in the Presbyterian section of the Eastern Suburbs Memorial Park Cemetery, Sydney.
George died aged 86 in 1946 in Liverpool, Sydney. He was buried on January 29th, 1946 in the Presbyterian section of the Eastern Suburbs Memorial Park Cemetery, Sydney.
