Eleanor Richardson was the fourth child of William Richardson & Hannah Coar (nee Beaney) born September 23 rd , 1860 at Blue House, Seaton & christened October 14 th , 1860 at St Mary the Virgin, Seaham, Co Durham.
In 1871 Eleanor was with her parents at William St, Dawdon, Co Durham. There were 5 brothers at home.
Eleanor's father was tragically killed in the Seaham Colliery disaster of 1880.
In 1881 Eleanor & her widowed mother & 3 brothers & 1 sisters were still living at William St. Eleanor was working as a dressmaker.
By 1891 Eleanor & her mother had moved to 3 Howarth St South, Bishop Wearmouth, Sunderland. Three brothers & a sister were still at home & Eleanor was still a dressmaker.
Eleanor married John Henry Baty in Oct-December 1895 at Sunderland. John Henry was born April-June 1851 in Sunderland, the son of Mary Ann & William Baty, a stone mason. John had been previously married. His first wife was Ann Brown who he married in Sunderland in 1885 & who died in 1891.
In 1901 Eleanor & John were living at 6 Earl St, Sunderland & John was a brick layer. They were living in the same street as Eleanor's brothers Thomas & Henry Richardson & their families.
In 1911 they were still at Earl St & John was described as a bricklayer & house builder. They had no children.
John died on December 10th, 1931 at Sunderland.
Eleanor died at 6 Earl St, Sunderland on August 24th, 1937, aged 76, & was buried at Bishop Wearmouth Cemetery.
