Ann Stainsby was the fifth child of Robert Stainsby & Elizabeth Brewer born Oct-December 1850 at Appleton-le Street & christened December 29th, 1850 at Pickering, Yorks.
In 1851 Ann, just 4 months old, was living with her parents & brother & sisters at Westgate, Pickering.
By 1861 Ann was now the oldest child living at home with her parents at the Gate House, Fryton, Yorks.
Ann had moved to Headingley, Leeds by 1871 where she was working as a kitchen
maid for the Tetley family. The head of the household was Francis W Tetley,
a brewer. The Tetleys & their large staff lived at Adel Rd, Fox Hill.
