Elizabeth Stone was the sixth child of James Stone & Eliza Woolley born at Bilston, Staffs & christened August 23rd, 1835 at St Thomas, Dudley, Worcs.
In 1841 Elizabeth was living with her parents & brothers & sisters at Hall Fields, Bilston, Wolverhampton.
Elizabeth was still living at home in 1851 at Old Meeting St, West Bromwich. Her father had died by this time, but there were 3 brothers & 3 sisters still at home.
In 1861 Elizabeth was working as an assistant in the pawn shop of her brother-in-law John Bowater. Elizabeth’s sister Harriet & John were living at 50 Hill Top, West Bromwich with their family & Elizabeth’s sister Eliza Morgan (nee Stone) was also there at the time of the census.
Sadly Elizabeth died aged just 29. She was buried in a common grave at Heath lane Cemetery, West Bromwich on February 11th, 1865. Also buried in the same common grave was Elizabeth’s neice, Sarah Bowater, the daughter of Harriet & John Bowater, who was buried on June 25th, 1861.
