Henry Edward Wall was the first child of Henry Edward Wall & Emma Rosanna Kettle born May 23rd, 1876 at Paradise St, & christened October 15th, 1876 at Christ Church, West Bromwich.
In 1881 Henry & his parents were living at 3 Whitaker St, Litchurch, Derbyshire along with his sister Mabel & newly-born brother Thomas.
By 1891 the family, now grown to include 7 children, had moved back to West Bromwich & were living at 9 Paradise St. Henry, now 14, was working at the coach wagon works.
Henry married Ada Jane Harris in Jan-March 1900 at West Bromwich Register Office. Ada Jane Harris was the daughter of George & Susanah Harris born September 6th, 1878 at West Bromwich.
In 1901 Henry & Ada were living at 11 Paradise St, next door to his parents & brothers & sisters. Henry was working at the railway carriage works & he & Ada had an 8 month old son, Harry. With them at the time of the census was Ada’s sister, Florence Harris, aged 12.
Henry & Ada were still living next door to Henry’s parents in Paradise St in 1911 & he was described as a machine driller at the railway works. They now had 4 children – Henry, William (9), Rosehannah (7) & Florence (1).
The 1939 register shows Henry & Ada living with daughter Emma Rosanna (Rose) & her husband Joseph Lavill & their daughter Patricia Lavill. They were living at 6 Barnford Crescent, Oldbury, Worcs & Henry was an edger at a brass foundry.
Daughter Florence & her husband Horace Smith were living at 90 Dog Kennel Lane, Oldbury in 1939. Horace was a press toolsetter & Florence was a clerk at the brass foundry.
Son William & his wife Elsie (nee Smith) who had married in 1927 were living at 223 Titford Rd, Langley, Oldbury in 1939 with daughters Doreen 1928 & Margaret Rose 1932 & son James W 1934. Also with them was widow Annie Smith, born 1882, a cashier at a works canteen. William was a foreman motor body builder & inspector.
Henry died aged 71 in July-September 1947 at Oldbury, Worcs.
Ada lived to aged 90 & died in Oct-December 1968 at Pershore, Worcs.
