George Frederic Wall was the fifth child of Henry Edward Wall & Emma Rosanna Kettle born February 17th, 1886 & christened January 11th, 1891 at St John's, West Bromwich.
George was living at 9 Paradise St, West Bromwich with his parents & brothers & sisters at the time of the 1891 census.
George was still living at home in Paradise St in 1901 & at the age of
15 he was a wood polisher.
In 1911 George was still with his parents in Paradise St & he was a tramcar painter.
George was an executor of his parent's wills in 1922 & 1928 when he was still a coach painter.
George married Annice Mary Wilkes on November 15th 1914 in West Bromwich. Annice was born December 21st, 1888 at Brownhills, Staffs, the daughter of Agnes & Mathew Henry Wilkes, a grocer’s warehouseman.
George enlisted in the army in 1915 & served until 1918. His address at that time was 11 Paradise St, West Bromwich. He served in the infantry in France & Italy but unfortunately developed trench nephritis in 1917.
The 1939 register shows George & Annie Mary living at 289 St Paul’s Rd, Smethwick & he was still a coach painter. With him were daughter Mabel, a baker’s hand, & son George, a tool setter. Also with the family was George’s brother, William Holyoake Wall (w.8.4.7} who was now widowed & working as a coach body builder.
Daughter Annice married William Augustus Hennah in 1946 in Smethwick.
George died on September 7th, 1950 at 289 St Paul’s Rd, Smethwick. Probate of his estate was granted to son George H, a tool setter, & daughter Mabel Annice Hennah (wife of Augustus Hennah). His effects were £2004.3s.6d.
Annice died aged 80 on July 12th, 1968 at 289 St Pauls Rd, Smethwick.
