Mabel Elizabeth Wall was the first child of George Frederick Wall & Sarah Willetts born October 29th 1886 at 52 Bromford Lane, West Bromwich & christened June 1st, 1888 at West Bromwich.

In 1891 Mabel & her parents were living at Zoar ? St, Wolverhampton. Her father George was a house painter.

In 1901 Mabel, now a general domestic servant, was still living at Wolverhampton but the family had moved to 2 All Saints Rd, Wolverhampton. She now had a younger brother & sister - William E (4) & Edith (1).

Mabel married Allan Mole Jan-March 1907 at Wolverhampton. Allan, a boot finisher, was born in 1876 in Wolverhampton, the son of Esther Belcher & George Mole, a tin plate worker.

There is a record of Mabel & Allan sailing from Liverpool on January 7th, 1910 aboard the ‘Tunisian’ arriving in Port Huron, Michigan, USA on January 17th, 1910.  The ship’s destination was Halifax, St John, Canada.

Mabel & Allan’s 2 young children were with their grandmother Sarah Wall & aunt Edith Wall at the time of the 1911 census.  They were living at 8 St Marks St, Wolverhampton.

Allan returned to England from Montreal arriving September 18th, 1911 in London.

Both Clara Irene & Ada were admitted to St John’s School, Wolverhampton in 1913 & their address at that time was given as 8 St Mark’s St, Wolverhampton.

On July 1st, 1916 Mabel married Ora Franklin Snyder in Detroit Michigan.  She gave her name at the time of the marriage as Mabel Wall.  Ora was born on October 30th,  1875 in Ohio, the son of Sarah Tobias & Abraham Snyder.  Ora had previously been married to Ida Kutcher in Ohio in 1895.  Ida & Ora had at least 3 daughters.

It is thought that Mabel & Allan Mole divorced on January 6th, 1920.  Interestingly Mabel & Ora married again on September 27th, 1920 in Detroit, Wayne, Michigan.  This time she gave her name as Mabel E Mole (divorced).

In March 1920 Mabel applied for an American passport to enable her to visit her mother in England who was ill.   Her address at that time was 1541 Brush St, Detroit.

In June 1920 Mabel returned to the US & with her were her 2 daughters, Ada & Irene.

The 1920 census shows Mabel & Ora living in Detroit where Ora was an apartment janitor.

In 1930 Mabel & Ora were still living in Detroit & Ora was now working as an excavator for a building contractor.  With them was Mabel’s daughter Irene, a typist at an electric plant, who had emigrated in 1920.  Daughter Ada had married Harold Shelley in Michigan & they were living in Detroit with a 3 year old daughter Edith P Shelley in 1930.

In June 1932 Mabel travelled back to the UK for a short visit.

Mabel & Ora were still living in Detroit in 1940 & Ora was now a truck driver.

Ora died on June 25th, 1941 in Detroit, Michigan.
