George Pallister was the fourth child of Cuthbert Pallister & Jane Dodds born at Windleston & christened October 19th, 1831 at Auckland St Andrew, Co Durham.
In 1841 George, his parents & younger sister were living at Windleston, St Andrew Auckland, where his father was an agricultural labourer.
In 1851 George was working as a farm labourer for farmer William Walker at Grindon, Preston-le-Skerne, Co Durham.
George married Margaret Smith on July 6th, 1858 at Auckland St Helens. Margaret was born c1835 at Bildershaw, Co Durham, the daughter of John Smith.
George & Margaret were living at Bolam Loft, West Auckland in 1861 where George was an agricultural labourer. They had a 1 year old son, John William.
The family were still at the same address in 1871 & George continued to work as an agricultural labourer. As well as son John they now had a daughter Mary Jane, aged 7.
In 1881 George & Margaret were living in West Auckland & George was now described as a farm servant, as was son John who was still at home. Daughter Mary was also living with her parents.
George & Margaret were listed at Staindrop Rd, West Auckland in 1891 & George continued to work as an agricultural labourer. Both children were still at home & John was now working as a railway platelayer.
Margaret, aged 60, died in April-June 1895 in Auckland.
In 1901 widowed George was still at the same address & was now described as a cow keeper. Mary & John, still a railway platelayer, were both still living at home.
George, aged 70, died in Jan-March 1902 at Auckland.
