Ada Pallister was the twelfth child of William Speed Pallister & Mary Bellwood born May 23rd, 1888 at Seghill, Northumberland.
In 1891 Ada was living at home with her parents & brothers & sisters at 26 Melton Terr, New Hartley, Seaton Delaval, Northumberland.
The family had moved by 1901, they were now at 1 North View, Wallbottle, Tyneside and Ada was still living at home.
Ada was living with her brother John & widowed mother Mary at 16 Swinburne Terrace, Dipton, Tanfield, Lanchester at the time of the 1911 census. She was to marry soon after the census at Lanchester. Her husband was Philip Bolam. Philip was born February 17th, 1886 at Seaton Delaval, the son of Jane Irene Mackintosh & Philip Bolam, a mining engineer & christened March 8th, 1886 at The Primitive Methodist Church, Blyth & Seaton Delaval Circuit, Haltwhistle.
Interestingly Ada’s daughter, Mary, was to marry her third cousin, Ralph Pallister Richardson, in Jan-March 1937. Ralph Pallister Richardson (born 1910) was the grandson of Margaret Pallister [p.1.6.3.1.2.3]. The 1939 register shows Mary & Ralph living at 73 Deepdene Rd, Sunderland where Ralph was a contractors general clerk & a member of the auxiliary fire service.
The 1939 register shows Ada & Philip living 2 Swinburne Terrace, Stanley, Co Durham. Philip was a colliery overman below ground & Ada was a member of the St John Nursing Association. With them was Ada’s brother John Speed Pallister who was noted as incapacitated & single.
Son John married Edith Mary Daniel on July 14th, 1943 at Middlesbrough.
Ada died, aged 80, on December 30th, 1968 in Durham.
Philip died, aged 97, in July-September 1983 at Tynemouth Rd, Northumberland.
