Hannah Pallister was the fourth child of Joseph Thompson Pallister and Ann Allison born April 27th, 1869 at Ornsby Hill, Lanchester.
In 1871 Hannah was at home with her parents at Ornsby Hill, Lanchester, where her father was a mason. She had 2 sisters and a brother also at this time.
By 1881 the family had moved to Annfield Plain, Kyo near Lanchester and Hannah was still living at home.
Hannah was still living at home in 1891, now Pontop Rows, Annfield Plain.
On June 6th, 1892 Hannah married Matthew Siddle in Lanchester. Matthew was born December 19th, 1868 in Tanfied, Co Durham, the son of Hannah & Thomas Siddle, a wagon driver.
In 1901 Hannah & Matthew were living at 265 Clara St, Benwell, Newcastle-upon-Tyne, Northumberland & Matthew was an ironmonger. They had 3 children by this time – Ida Florence (6), Thomas T (3) & Matthew (7 months).
By 1911 Hannah & Matthew had moved to 168 Hampstead Rd, Benwell & Matthew was now a commercial traveller for incandecent (sic) lights. At home were Ida Florence, a shop assistant for incandescent lights, Thomas Thompson, Matthew Richardson, Lily (6) & Doris May (4).
Son Matthew married Mary Louise Woodhall in 1922 in Newcastle-upon-Tyne & they emigrated to USA where they brought up 2 children.
Hannah died, aged 68, on May 30th, 1937 at Newcastle-upon-Tyne.
The 1939 register shows widowed Matthew, now a retired general dealer, living with daughter Lily & her husband Ralph Clarke, a miner, at 37 Heather Place, Fenham, Newcastle-upon-Tyne.
Daughter Ida & her husband Richard H Rook, a general labourer in munitions, were living at 2 Theodosia, Newcastle-upon-Tyne in 1939.
In 1939 daughter Doris May & her husband Thomas W Morgan, a general handyman, & family were living at 17 Parmontley St, Newcastle-upon-Tyne.
Son Thomas & his wife Mary (nee Snowball) were living at Lasrick Racecourse Lane, Northallerton in 1939 & Thomas was an employment officer at the Ministry of Labour.
Matthew died, aged 85, on November 8th, 1954 at Newcastle-upon-Tyne.
