Emma Pallister was the sixth child of Joseph Thompson Pallister and Ann Allison, born Oct-December 1873, at Lanchester.
By 1881 the family had moved to Annfield Plain, Kyo near Lanchester and Emma’s father was a foreman mason.
Emma was still living at home at Pontop Rows in 1891 & was working as a milliner.
In Oct-December 1895 Emma married John William Lee at Lanchester. John was born May 10th, 1870 in Haydon Bridge, Northumberland, the son of Mary Spark & Joseph Lee, a mason. He was christened on August 14th, 1870 at Hexham Circuit of the Wesleyan Methodists.
Sadly Emma died, aged just 24, on September 2nd, 1898. She was buried at Harelaw Cemetery, Stanley on September 4th, 1898. Her daughter Edith Annie who had died on September 19th, 1898 was buried with her.

In 1901 widowed John was living with his father Joseph Lee, also widowed, at Kyo, Annfield Plain, Co Durham. John was working as a stone mason & with him was his 3 year old son Fred. There were 3 of John’s younger sisters also living with them.
John remarried in April-June 1908 at Lanchester. His second wife was Jane Florence Pace.
In 1911 John & Jane Florence were living at 34 Wesley Terrace, Annfield Plain & John was a working builder, mason. With them was John’s 13year old son Frederick who was at school & a 1 year old daughter, Muriel.
The 1939 register shows John & Jane living at 6 Queens Parade, Stanley & John was now a builder & contractor. With them was a 24 year old daughter, Edith N Lee.
John died on July 13th, 1956 at Whitburn House, 6 Queens Parade, Annfield Plain. Probate was granted to Adam Wilson, certified accountant & his effects were £1,292.1s.4d.
