Mary Ann Pallister was the second child of Thomas Pallister & Mary Blackburn born c1817 at Birtley, Co Durham.
In 1841 Mary Ann was living with her parents & 4 brothers at Queen St, Thornley, Co Durham.
Mary Ann married John Wilde in 1846 at Chester-le-Street. John was born at Earsdon, Northumberland & christened December 2nd, 1822 at Saint Nicholas, Newcastle-upon-Tyne, the son of Jane & John Wilde.
In 1851 Mary Ann & John were living at Birtley where John was a coal miner. They had a daughter Mary Ann (1) & also living with them were Mary Ann’s parents – Thomas (81) & Mary (70) & her brother William Pallister, a 25 year old labourer.
In 1871 Mary Ann was noted as head of the family, although her marital status was given as married. She was living at Brickgarth, Birtley with daughters Mary Ann, a domestic servant, Jane (18), a dressmaker & Hannah (14). Mary Ann was described as a field worker.
Mary Ann died in July-September 1880, the death being registered at Chester-le-Street
