Mary married George Wilkinson, a widower of Stockton on August 9th, 1834 at St John the Baptist, Egglescliffe. Witnesses at the wedding were Mary’s brother Joseph & sister Ann. Both Mary & George made their marks on the register. George was born February 24th, 1808 at Exeter, Devon & christened March 13th, 1808 at Bow (now Mint Meeting) or Georges Meeting House-Presbyterian, Exeter, Devon, the son of George & Sarah Wilkinson.

Mary died on March 28th, 1852 soon after giving birth to son James, & was buried on March 31st at Holy Trinity, Stockton. In 1861 widower George was living at 1 Portrack Lane, Stockton with children Jane Ann, William, a brass finisher, Joseph & James S (9). George was now described as seaman M.S. formerly, water vender.

George, aged 63, died in December 1870 & was buried on December 12th, 1870 at St Thomas, Stockton.

Daughter Jane Ann married Thomas Long, a mariner, & in 1871 they & their family were living in Alberto St, Stockton & with them were Jane Ann’s brothers – George, a smith, & James, a hammer driver.
