John, age 27 & a mariner, married Ann Headly, age 22, by licence on September 10th, 1739 at Holy Trinity, Sunderland, Co Durham. The marriage bond stated that Ann was of Chester-le-Street & mentioned Joseph Jackson, tailor of Westgate.
