Jacob Speed [sp.1.6.4]

Jacob Speed was the fourth child of Jacob Speed & Mary Shaw born  at Lumley Park & christened June 20th, 1756 at Chester-le-Street.

Jacob married Hannah Coates on May 8th 1790 at Penshaw, Co Durham.  Hannah was of the parish of Houghton-le-Spring. Hannah was born at Newbottle & christened January 1st, 1764 at St Michael & All Angels, Houghton-le-Spring, the daughter of Sarah & George Coates.

Jacob worked as an engineman at New Lambton, Co Durham.

Jacob died on June 1st, 1824 at Quality Row, Chester-le-Street & was buried June 5th, 1824 at Chester-le-Street.

There is a burial for Hannah Speed on December 25th 1837 at All saints, Penshaw, Co Durham.

The children of Jacob Speed & Hannah Coates were:

sp. Sarah Speed christened April 29th, 1791 at All Saints, Penshaw. Co Durham; buried July 25th, 1810 at All Saints, Penshaw

sp. George Speed born at New Lambton & christened December 30th, 1792 at All Saints, Penshaw. Co Durham; buried on April 14th 1852 at St Nicholas,  Hetton-le-Hole.

sp. Jacob Speed born February 28th, 1795 at New Lambton & christened March 12th 1795 at Wesleyan Brunswick Place Chapel, Newcastle upon Tyne; died February 25th & buried February 27th 1807 at All Saints, Penshaw

sp. Mary Speed christened May 14th, 1797 at St Michael & All Angels, Houghton-le-Spring; died at Oxclose, Coxhoe & buried October 25th 1851 at Kelloe, Co Durham

sp.  Hannah Speed born September 11th, 1799 at New Lambton & christened October 27th, 1799 at All Saints, Penshaw; buried April 26th, 1801 at All Saints, Penshaw

sp. Eleanor Speed born July 16th & christened September 12th, 1802 at All Saints, Penshaw; died at 12 Green St, Plymouth in February 1837  & buried on February 26th at Ebenezer Chapel Wesleyan Graveyard, Saltash Rd, Plymouth.
