Mabel Rebecca Wall was the only child of William Harvey Wall & Rebecca Crust born June 17th, 1879 at Goole, Yorkshire.
In 1881 Mabel Rebecca & her parents were living with her grandmother Ann Crust, a 74 year old widow, at Vermuyden Terr., Hook, nr Goole. Also living there was Rebecca’s aunt Sara Ann Sailes (nee Crust) & her 3 children – Rachel Ann (10), John George (6) & Tom Joseph (3).
Mabel Rebecca’s parents, William & Rebecca were not found in the 1891 census, but Mabel had been ‘adopted’ by Isaac Timmins, a blacksmith, & his wife Mabel Elizabeth – William Harvey Wall’s younger sister. They were living at 30 Grove St, St Peter, Derby & Isaac (29) & Mabel (36) had 3 children of their own – Winifred (4), Isaac E (2) & Thomas H (11? months).
In 1901 Mabel Rebecca was still living with her aunt Mabel & uncle Isaac Timmins at 30 Grove St, Derby & Isaac is recorded as a furniture dealer. Mabel’s cousins Isaac & Thomas were still at home & 2 more cousins had arrived – James (7) & Walter (5). Mabel (21) was listed as a domestic servant.
Mabel Rebecca married Arthur Harrison on August 27th, 1913 at London Rd Methodist Church, Derby. Arthur was born December 1st, 1883 at Wellingborough, Northants. He was the son of Abner Harrison & Mary Archer & was one of 16 children born to Mary!
Mabel Rebecca & Arthur lived at 40 Clifton St, Derby all their married lives & had only 1 son, Frederick Arthur. Mabel was a close friend of her cousin Gertrude Wall & she & her family paid visits to Gertie & her husband Denys Horton at Troed-y-Bryn, Arthog, North Wales.

The 1939 register shows Mabel & Arthur at 40 Clifton St, Derby & Arthur was described as an LMS locomotive engine driver. With them was son Frederick who was a grocer’s warehouseman. Frederick was to marry Edna Brownlow aka Esther Victoria Daborn in 1944.
Mabel died on March 25th, 1955, aged 75, at 40 Clifton St, Derby & was buried at Nottingham Rd cemetery on April 14th, 1955. Her death certificate shows that Arthur was a retired railway engine driver.
Arthur died on August 14th,1963, aged 79, at 40 Clifton St, Derby. Administration of his estate was granted to Mrs Edna Simpson & Miss Margaret Corbett & his effects were £2,830.
