Thomas Wall was the second child of William Wall & Mary Ball born October 24th, 1869 at Ocker Hill, Tipton, Staffs.
In 1871 Thomas & his sister Ann & parents were living at 4 James St, Wednesbury.
By 1881 the family had moved to 72 Lea Brook Rd, Tipton & Thomas had 2 sisters & 3 brothers by this time.
Thomas, a fitter, married Edith Elizabeth Hartshorne on May 18th, 1890 at St Mark’s, Ocker Hill, Tipton. Witnesses at the wedding were Ann Eliza Smith & Charles Henry Smith, Thomas’ sister & brother-in-law. Edith was christened September 12th, 1869 at St Luke’s, Wolverhampton, Staffs, the daughter of Martha & Samuel Hartshorne, a colliery engine worker. In 1881 the Hartshorne family were living at 113 Lea Brook Rd, Tipton, near neighbours of the Walls.
In 1891 Thomas & Edith were living at 61 Oxford St, Wednesbury & Thomas was a socket maker. They had a 22 year old lodger, Thomas Thompson.
Thomas & Edith were living at 4 Oakenhill? St, Wednesbury in 1901 & Thomas was now described as an iron tube socket maker. They had a daughter Edith L (7) & a son William T (5).
Thomas & Edith & their family emigrated to the United States in 1904 & became US citizens in 1915.
In 1910 Thomas, Edith & children Lillian (Edith Lily) & William were living in Madison, Wisconsin. Thomas was working as a fireman at a gas company.
Daughter Edith Lily married Reno Harp Forsythe Sr. in Minnesota.
The 1920 US census shows Thomas & Edith still living in Madison where Thomas was a stationary fireman at a gas & electric plant. Son William Thomas was living with them & was working as a salesman in a dry goods store. They had a 29 year old boarder from England, Roland Smith, a foreman in a battery factory.
Son William married Wanda Edna Drews in 1921 in Wisconsin.
Thomas & Edith continued to live in Madison, Wisconsin in 1930 & Thomas was still a stationary fireman.
The 1940 census shows Thomas & Edith still living in Madison & Thomas was now a janitor for the Madison Gas & Electric Company.
Edith died on September 12th, 1950 & was buried at Roselawn Memorial Park Cemetery, Monona, Wisconsin.
Thomas died on December 19th, 1952 & was buried at Roselawn Memorial Park Cemetery, Monona, Wisconsin.
