Sarah Freeth was the second child of Samuel Freeth & Jane Walford born June 19th, 1864 at Smethwick, Staffs.
In 1871 Sarah was living with her parents & 3 sisters at Jockey St, Smethwick.
The family were still at Jockey St in 1881 & both Sarah & her older sister Jane Ellen were both dressmakers.
In 1891 the family had moved to 9 Chatwin St, Smethwick & Sarah continued to be a dressmaker.
Sarah married Lucien Trotman on January 25th, 1892, at Smethwick. Lucien was born April 20th, 1862 at Broomfield, Smethwick, the son of Rebecca & Jerome Bonaparte Trotman, a commercial clerk.
In 1901 Sarah & Lucien were living at 31 Westfield Rd, Smethwick & Lucien was a hardware (iron) dealer with his own account. They had 2 children – Bernard (8) & Grace (1).
Sarah & Lucien continued to live at the same address with their 2 children in 1911. Lucien was now an assurance agent & Sarah was a dressmaker with her own account working at home. Son Bernard was a library assistant for Smethwick Corporation & Grace was still at school.
Son Lucien Bernard married Alice Susan Falconer in 1922 at Kings Norton.
Lucien died on December 6th, 1926, aged 64, at Smethwick.
The 1939 register shows widowed Sarah still living at 31 Westfield Rd & with her was daughter Constance, a postal clerk in the screw trade. Also listed at the same address was son Bernard & his wife Alice S. Bernard was a chief cashier at an iron & steel manufacturers.
Sarah died November 24th, 1949, aged 85, at Smethwick.
