Isabella Pallister was the third child of Peter Pallister & Catherine Gerry born June 1st, 1827 at Gateshead, Co Durham.
In 1841 Isabella was still living at home with her parents & brothers & sisters at Gateshead, Co Durham .
Isabella married John Pattison on March 15th, 1851, at Gateshead Fell. John was born c1818 at Otterburn, Northumberland.
Isabella & John were living with her parents, brother & sisters at Wrekenton, Gateshead at the time of the 1851 census. John was an agricultural labourer from Northumberland.
In 1861 Isabella & John were living at Usworth Village, Co Durham & John was an agricultural labourer. They had 4 children by this time – Peter (8), Thomas (6), Robert (3) & John (1).
By 1871 the family had moved to West Jesmond Cottage, Jesmond & John was now a husbandman as were sons Peter, Thomas & Robert who were all at home. Also at home were John, William (9), Margaret (6), Catherine (4) & Henry (2).
Isabella & John had moved again by 1881 to Carl's Yard, Newcastle St Andrew, Northumberland & John was now described as an agricultural labourer. Isabella was employed as a charwoman. Sons Peter & John were both agricultural labourers & living at home, as were Margaret, Catherine & Henry.
John died in Oct-December 1882, aged 64, the death being registered at Newcastle.
In 1891 widowed Isabella (Isabel in census) was living at 34 Bulmer St, Newcastle St Andrew with sons Peter & Henry, both cartmen. There was also a grandson, Henry Pattison Croft, aged 1 year, with them, the son of daughter Catherine who had married Henry Croft in 1887.
Isabella could not be found in 1901, but son Peter was still living at 34 Bulmer St & was a labourer for the corporation. Son Henry had married Mary Jane Taylor in 1894 & was living at 1 Bulmer St & also working for the corporation as a cartman. They had 2 daughters – Alice (6) & Isabella (7 months).
