Peter Pallister [p.1.6.6]

Peter Pallister was the sixth child of Peter Pallister & Hannah Garthwaite christened March 16th, 1764 at All Saints, Lanchester, Co. Durham.

Peter was mentioned in the will of his uncle William Pallister of Lanchester dated 1796. He was to receive £10 on his uncle’s death. He also gained financially on his father’s death in 1809.

Peter married Ruth Peverell on July 26th, 1801 at All Saints, Lanchester, by licence. They were both described as of the parish. Ruth was christened March 18th 1769, the daughter of Ann & John Peverell of Staindrop.

At the time of the birth of his son, John Peverell, in 1802 Peter was described as a tailor.

Ruth died August 10th, 1809 & was buried on August 12th, 1809, aged 42 years, at Lanchester. Ruth was described as wife of farmer Peter & of New Houses, Greencroft.

Peter was buried on December 1st, 1820 at All Saints, Lanchester. He was 56 years old & described as of Fenhall.
