Margaret Pallister was the seventh child of Peter Pallister & Hannah Garthwaite christened August 6th, 1766, at All Saints, Lanchester, Co. Durham.
Margaret married William Douglass on June 30th, 1798 Washington after the reading of banns. Both were described as of the parish. William was born c1770 at Chester-le-Street.
Margaret died aged 75 & was buried March 14th, 1841 at Holy Trinity, Washington.
In the 1841 census William was noted as a shoemaker living at Washington with children William, also a shoemaker, Margaret & Pearson, a tailor.
William died on January 5th, 1848, at Chester-le-Street.
Interestingly the 3 children – William, Margaret, now a grocer, & Pearson were still living together at Washington in 1851.
