Thomas Pallister was the first child of John Pallister & Tamar Lowes born January 6th 1806 at Windlestone, Co Durham & christened February 9th, 1806 at Auckland St Andrew.
Thomas married Christiana Stabler on May 14th, 1827 at Staindrop, Co Durham. Christiana was born October 11th, 1805 at Barton-le-Street near Malton, N. Yorks & christened October 26th, 1805 at Sinnington, N. Yorks, the daughter of Ann & William Stabler(s).
Thomas & Christiana were living at Rushyford, Windlestone by 1841 with their children John (11), William (9), Thomas (7), Elenor (5) & Charles (3). Thomas was a blacksmith & as evidenced by the birthplace of their children he was an itinerant blacksmith travelling all over County Durham.
In 1851 Thomas & Christiana were living in the village of Woodham with sons William (19) a blacksmith, Thomas (16) a joiner’s apprentice. Charles (13) & daughter Tamar (5). Thomas was a master blacksmith. Son John, also a blacksmith (journeyman), was visiting Thomas Johnson, a journeyman blacksmith, & his family at the time of the census in Coundon, Co Durham.
Thomas died on January 27th, 1859 & was buried January 30th, 1859 at Auckland St Andrews.
In 1861 widowed Christiana was working as a cook for widowed Thomas Louis Trotter, a rector, & his family at Great Stainton Village, Co Durham.
By 1871 Christiana was listed with her daughter Tamar Elizabeth & her husband Thompson Bainbridge Grey, an iron founder, & their 1 year old son, Robert Pallister Grey. They were living at 6 Fulton Terrace, Shildon, Co Durham.
Christiana was still living with (Tamar) Elizabeth & Thompson & their family in 1881, now at 24 Fulton Terrace, Shildon. Christiana was described as formerly a cook.
Christiana died in 1882, & was buried on April 1st, at St John's Anglican Church, Shildon, Co Durham.
